Contos de foghile – Semestene

In the collection Contos de foghile (a Sardinian expression that means “fireside tales”), the colors are the classic traditional ones, iconic to the Marras maison: ecru, black and burgundy. The motifs are also a revival of traditional designs, brought up to date in order to bring memory into the present-day. In the carpets Semestene and Barace they have been placed within concentric frames, to emphasize the harmonious contrast between decoration and rigor. The workmanship, which draws its inspiration from the pibiones grain weaving technique typical of Sardinian culture, reflects the values of the most authentic craftsmanship.

Care & Maintenance
A correct handling and small daily attentions ensure that you may preserve over time the tactile and aesthetic qualities of the carpet. In addition to the quality of the cleaning, which must strictly be professional in case of handmade carpets, there are a number of important recommendations to be made. A few inconveniences may occur soon after first buying a hand-crafted carpet for the first time. Recognizing them and knowing how to deal with them can help you prevent irreversible damage.

Designer: Antonio Marras

Antonio Marras was born in Alghero, where he lives and works. In 1987 he designed his first collection. Since his first experience in fashion, Marras stands out for his experiments, for his ability to “feel” the different realities around him. Marras crosses all the declinations of visual culture, from decorations to details from epochs and seemingly irreconcilable worlds. His icons are anarchic and irregular figures, impossible to classify.
