Limited Editions, Antonio Marras Limited Edition
Paskadevada

Afghan handwoven kilim in wool with original embroidery created in Antonio Marras atelier in Sardinia. Only the three basic colors (black, bordeaux and ecru) were agreed on. Marras worked on these kilims as if they were canvasses; but, instead of painting them, he laid fragments on them, “ideas” that the skilled embroiderers of Bitti, a village in the Barbagia region, secured point by point by hand. The designer explains that the “fragments” that he used are «the interiors of jackets, linings: the canvases that cover and strengthen the structures of my clothes. I have worked with the inside, with leftover pieces, with what is usually thrown away and cancelled out. But instead, I picked them up and put them back in their place, remodelling and rearranging them.»
