With a dedicated staging at the brand showroom on Via Borgogna in Milan, Amini presents proposals for the Contract world and the new Architectural line, conceived by Amini Studio with the artistic direction of Elisa Ossino Studio.

A luxuriant imagination for the Giardino carpet by Carlotta Fortuna, a random and cluttered spray of flowers and blades of grass that embody the overwhelming and regenerative strength of nature itself. It is represented here in a basic, quick and thoughtful sign, like the free brush strokes on a painter’s canvas. Nature, therefore, is the protagonist and the inspiration comes from Botticelli’s Primavera and from its flora full of symbolism: the suggestion of the Renaissance masterpiece is noted in the colour range of the flowers and background, which make this hand-knotted carpet a refined and contemporary work of craftsmanship.

Amini Brothers Company celebrate their important 60th anniversary in the elegant rooms of Villa Erba, set in a marvellous context overlooking Lake Como.

Amini pays tribute to 20th century design and Italian abstract art with an exhibition dedicated to two great masters of the Rationalism tradition in Como: Ico Parisi and Manlio Rho.

The Le Fil Vert Collection is awarded for the Eco-friendly Products category at The Green Collection show at the Domotex 2023 fair. THE GREEN COLLECTION is the centerpiece of DOMOTEX 2023. This special show is the central area in which the topic of sustainability is played out. The award for the Eco-friendly Products is focused on organically and ethically produced materials, as well as recycled and upcycled raw materials.

From 7 to 12 June, Amini is presenting a world preview of four new collections: Composizione 1956, by Manlio Rho, RD Trace, design by Rodolfo Dordoni, Nostalghia, design by Elisa Ossino, and Giardino, design by Carlotta Fortuna. On display at the 2022 Milan Furniture Fair.

Amini is presenting an exhibition dedicated to a selection of fine Afghan wool carpets hand carded and twisted, made in villages of northern Afghanistan, where symbols and knotting techniques are passed down from family to family, and differ in each village. Amini’s Afghan looms are certified by Label Step, demonstrating its on-going commitment to economic, environmental and social sustainability.

These rugs can speak to us through symbols, abstract geometries and code signs. Their natural tones recall the earth, its history and its remains. Their decorations are basic, yet mysterious messages sent from ancient ancestors. And this is how Pangea, Nomadic, Collective and One of a kind were developed, carpets with a strong tribal flavor united by the search for a sign.

“Dear Joe Colombo, you taught us about the future” is an exhibition that GAM, the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan dedicated to Joe Colombo, an architect and designer who was able to anticipate the future through an approach to design that was revolutionary in its impact.

On the exhibition route we come across the Isola Orange carpet from Amini, inspired by the technical patterns designed by Colombo to fit out the Hoecht stand for the Düsseldorf plastics trade fair in 1970. The carpet was selected because the colors, shapes and lines perfectly reflect the futuristic visions of this brilliant, modern designer.

Collectives: Amini reinterprets the Afghan rug in a special collection of one-a-kind pieces. The exclusivity of these handknotted rugs in wool lays in their uniqueness, each of them is unrivaled and unprecedented, each of them represents the excellence of the traditional Afghan weaving techniques translated into contemporary designs, beautifully manufactured by Afghan handicraft realities.

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2021, the city opens its doors to new exhibition spaces, including Casa Canvas, a new hospitality proposal for art and design enthusiasts. On display, in the evocative rooms of a seventeenth-century building in typical Milanese style, in the heart of Brera, the Jean II carpet by Amini, designed by the communication and design studio Juma. The installation, curated by Thayse Viégas, founder of Casa Canvas, and Nazarena Manenti, Milanese architect and stylist, offered a fluid and experiential path interpreting the different forms of living in order to create a welcoming and exclusive atmosphere.

Amini participates to Vietato l’Ingresso (translated: Forbidden Entrance),  an initiative in conjunction with the Fuorisalone 2021 that will allow, after a year of forced closure, to reopen the doors of the TAM Theatre – Teatro Arcimboldi Milano – and make temporarily visitable the areas previously reserved for artists.

Colors, geometries, the materiality of the surfaces: these are the recurrent themes of Elisa Ossino’s and Rodolfo Dordoni’s new projects for Amini 2021. Campiture and RD Gris are new and quite different proposals which Amini chooses to present independently at the Supersalone and in its showroom in via Borgogna in Milan.

The Venice Design Biennial returns, after a year of forced break, with the third edition in attendance. Discover the carpet Teorema Hybrid at “Una stanza tutta per sé”, the exhibition by Elisa Ossino open to the public from May 20 to June 27.

Three different proposals united by Amini’s keen research on the most precious natural yarns. Alpaca wool, Linen and a selection of fine Indian wools, all hand-woven: Naua organic black, Nilo charcoal and Jackie cream. A neutral and delicate moodboard highlighting materials and the texture of the fleece.

Decorative element, object of exchange, expression of local cultures and traditions: many are the roles played by the carpet throughout history. Weaving Nature is an installation inspired by the carpet’s most ancient role, when, above all, it represented a shelter, primary source of well-being, warmth, and energy. The installation and its inspiration are entrusted to an evocative video, reminiscent of the harmony and deep emotions that the relationship with simple and natural materials still manages to arouse in us.

Amini signs an exceptional partnership with Label Step, the independent non-profit organization committed to guaranteeing the well-being of workers in the handmade carpet industry and the quality of the environment in which they operate. The initiative aims at sharing specific objectives, a natural consequence of a holistic vision that has always guided Amini’s choices.

Amini launches a new collection of eco-friendly carpets for outdoors and indoors, weaved with a special, ecological yarn. Discover Le Fil Vert, on display at the Amini showroom in Milan.

New carpets are now added to the collection born from the designs of René Gruau presented last year in Paris. Thanks to the historical archive of Fede Cheti, three new subjects have been selected to become part of the series: Woman, Man, and Cap, carpets realized in a Limited Edition of 99 numbered copies, linked one another by the typical stroke of the illustration, the use of black and white, and the ironic and sensual tone.

There are new days ahead of us, filled with more creativity and resourcefulness than ever. Around the corner, many are the blessings the future holds. Among the upcoming news, new designs, new collaborations, and a brand new catalog.

In the splendid setting of the Amalfi coast, 300 meters above the sea level, the Belmond Hotel Caruso stands out perched on the mountain among the lemon and the olive trees of Ravello. The renovated ancient palace of the eleventh century offers historic interiors with precious frescoed ceilings. The carpets Antichi carpets and Ziegler Amini complete the suggestive atmosphere of the luxurious suites, a prestigious retreat between sky and sea.

Elegant, minimal, cozy. The J Japanese Restaurant in Naples, designed by FADD Architects in 2016, is all about simple lines, excellent material surfaces, and soft lighting. On the first floor, the Plain rugs from the Amini Indoor/Outdoor Collection decor the lounge area, recreating a multisensory experience, aimed at comfort and relaxation.

Chosen by Elle Decor for the 2020 edition of the digital interior project “IperHotel”, In/Lustro by Carlotta Fortuna is a minimalist and contemporary carpet that we could define monochromatic with a twist.

In its fifth edition, the Grand Hotel by Elle Decor presents IperHotel, designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba. Inaugurated on November 26th in a totally new formula, Elle Decor’s confirms the consolidated set of Palazzo Morando, this year in its virtual version. A hyper-connected display, with practical links and curious contents for visitors, with a rich and always evolving calendar of events.

Linen and alpaca wool are the protagonists of a new collection of rugs made of excellent materials, with inimitable properties, and of the highest quality. Natural fibers, virgin, and ecological, intertwined into a sober design, functional to their purity.

Abstract Room is the first appointment of From the Looms, the series of events that Amini dedicates to the launch of the new collection 2021.

An object is the concrete outcome of an idea; it is born from an articulated process of translation of a creative and technical project. Elisa Ossino talks about her working method and the genesis of the Ritagli collection, driven by the research for a balance between analogue and digital, tradition and innovation.

Villa Luce, a splendid residence built in 1840 and located on the shore of Lake Como, is an ode to nature and fine living. A household reflecting all the beauty and elegance that the surroundings offer. On the floor of the colorful living room, Esagoni by Gio Ponti, Amini’s carpet from the Design Icons collection.

Soft fleeces, unique weavings. The research and analysis of different shades and textures have shaped the Amini Lab, a program dedicated to the offer of sophisticated proposals and original color schemes to achieve always new ways to dress your home according to the latest trends. A studio focused on creating innovative solutions in order to style your interiors in a personal and creative manner. 

When the world stops, the mind flies. Interviewed within the walls of his Milanese apartment, Rodolfo Dordoni talks about work, objects, family, projects, and discoveries.

The declination of custom made project expands to the nautical sector, through the collaboration with Cantieri Sanlorenzo and the supply of carpets able to enhance the excellence of the design that has characterized the company for more than fifty years.

Carpets Taranto and Diamantina of Gio Ponti Collection were included in the interior project of architect Daniele Loscalzo Moscheri for the design of a duplex apartment in Moscow. Together with the Icons rugs, a selection of custom Whisper in neutral colors define the spaces and highlight the contemporary and warm design of the apartment.

Carpets Sole-Luna, Diamantina and Sorrento of Gio Ponti Collection were chosen for the latest project of interior design by Gérarde Faivre in collaboration with FGF; an apartment in Boulevard Saint-Germain, 7th Arrondissement, with a vintage and charming atmosphere.

Wool, a fiber used since ancient times that maintains unchanged its modernity and its innate properties: fineness, resistance, and lighter and earthy tones. A material tied to local traditions and processes coming from sustainable pastures and farms.

A carpet that embodies all the values of the Berber tradition, with clear contemporary expressions. Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, the carpet plays with geometries, and the interpretation of the materials becomes rudimentary and spontaneous.

Tones, shapes and multiple suggestions of the natural world are the elements inspiring the new collection of outdoor rugs, designed by textile designer Carlotta Fortuna. In balance between functionality, respect for the environment and innovative aesthetics, this corpus of rugs stands out for its resistance to atmospheric agents and extraordinary tactile and visual softness.

“Our production handcrafted, based on traditional techniques, and all materials we use have natural origins. But our commitment toward sustainability is equal to any company pay attention to quality and to the working conditions of the whole chain: from the cultivation of cotton, jute, and hemp to the farms from which we obtain our wool…”

The geometric figures are protagonists of a continuous play of counterpoints and continuous geometric echoes, while the creative freedom, at the heart of the Contemporary collection, finds in Teorema carpets a three-dimensional and distinctive graphic interpretation.

Amini and Antonio Marras together for the Milano Fashion Week 2020. The collaboration between Amini and the Italian fashion designer has always been a great occasion to experiment and explore: a consolidated bond led by a common vision and passion for new challenges. Amini took part in the show dressing the set of Marras’ catwalk with a fine selection of monochromatic and optical kilims reflecting and emphasizing the mood of the event, entitled The crazy sewing machine and the sparkling Jana. A genuine tale about how we can “abandon the usual paths and the well-known to discover meanings that are both ancient and new, universal and individual”.

The elegant district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the historical center of the intellectual and cultural life of the city, housed the exhibition René Gruau and Paris: a story of love and elegance. On the occasion of Paris Déco Home Amini has launched three hand-knotted carpets, as a result of the close collaboration between the textile entrepreneur Fedi Cheti and René Gruau, one of the most influential Italian-French artists of the 20th century, and now new member of the Icons collection family.

National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art in Matera

From December 8th, 2019 to March 8th, 2020 in the National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art of Basilicata, inside the XVII century Palazzo Lanfranchi in Matera, will be open to the public the exhibition “Trama doppia. Maria Lai, Antonio Marras”. The duo walks the guests into a poetic world, suspended between visible and invisible. On the occasion Amini realizes a series of nine wall hangings, designed by Antonio Marras, made with some pieces of old jackets. Uniques pieces woven in Afghanistan and hand-embroidered in Sardinia.

The initiative of Elle Decor Italia comes to its fourth edition, reflecting on the constant evolution of the concept of hôtellerie. With “Design Therapy”, Elle Decor Italia presents a project-installation signed by the studio Matteo Thun & Partners, which this year explores a holistic vision of the hotel of tomorrow, where the attention to physical and mental wellness of its guests is the cornerstone of the interior design project, and where the presence of nature is pivotal. Following this philosophy, Amini participates with Plain and Patina, two rugs with different characteristics that complement two of the key areas of the sensory journey set up in the halls of Palazzo Morando: the garden and the night area.

A versatile architect and designer, she ranks today among the most authoritative names in the field of interior design.
She founded Elisa Ossino Studio and is a co-founder of the H+O brand.

“I like spaces that do not to represent reality too closely. Art is an inspiration in this sense: when I design a space I elevate it to a mere abstraction, I like it to be suspended and dreamlike. I try to arrange it so that the elements decorate the space as they would a painting. Space must be the translation of a moment, convey a feeling.”

Amini has officially inaugurated the exhibition Classico Italiano, in the city of Venice. Within the walls of the historical weaving mill of Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua, a fine selection of carpets is now on display. Guests will have the pleasure to witness important phases of the carpet making, conducted through original eighteenth-century looms.

I would spend time studying history, along with the now-forgotten symbols forgotten; I would look for spirituality. Surely, striving for research, into new materials, looking at rejected samples will allow us to develop new aesthetic forms, new techniques, new types of language that we are still unaware of today…”
