60th Anniversary Amini Brothers Company

Amini Brothers Company celebrate their important 60th anniversary in the elegant rooms of Villa Erba, set in a marvellous context overlooking Lake Como.

A unique opportunity to thank all the partners, clients and associates who have accompanied Amini Brothers Company in their journey towards this important landmark, perceived by the company as a joint effort and a shared achievement. Not only a point of arrival, therefore, but also one of departure for creating new success stories, but always in the name of growth and reciprocal collaboration.

For this important event, the company has chosen to lead its guests through an original installation – curated by Elisa Ossino Studio – dedicated to the company’s carpets and the places in which they are produced. A journey that celebrates the strong identity of Amini Brothers Company, recalling the places of the company’s foundation and growth.

A story that began in 1962 when Sultan Amini, a businessman from Afghanistan, was inspired by the ancient craft of hand-woven carpets to set up ABC, Amini Brothers Company. The traditions of their homeland, Afghanistan, represent a meaningful cultural heritage that is still very much alive, as well as being the fulcrum of the Amini family’s business activity for more than half a century. But the company has pushed these boundaries to infuse the ancient textile art with a strong contemporary spirit, thanks to the collaboration with high-profile craftsmen, design firms and creative talents of renowned skills, to generate a range of extraordinary products.

Special thanks for their contribution to the set up to: De Padova, Talenti

The ballroom of Villa Erba hosted the Ciclopi carpet collection in organic wool designed by Elisa Ossino. Ten iconic carpets (Bamiyan and two Taimany by ABC, RD Grid Berber by Rodolfo Dordoni, Giardino and Collective by Carlotta Fortuna, Valparaise by Renè Gruau, Composizione 74 by Manlio Rho, Utopia by Ico Parisi and Diamantina by Gio Ponti) were displayed inside the central hall together with two limited edition wall hangings designed by Antonio Marras, Astasia and Sagreta. In the last room, a video titled The Rhythm of Craft by Valentina Sommariva – in collaboration with Simone Pontini – provided guests with a visual narration of the most important production sites and artisanal techniques underlying the story of Amini carpets.
