Viaggio nella Fantasia by Bruno Munari- Skyscrapers and the moon

Viaggio nella Fantasia/Flight of Fancy is part of the Block Notes series, created by Munari for Corraini in 1992: a free collection of projects with creative implications. It is a collection of ideas and examples of artistic work as input for everyone’s “intellectual play”, recognizable by its gray covers, pocket size, and the holes in the cover, which encourage the reader to “peek inside” the book. Amini particularly focuses on the dot project, conceived as an invitation to a free creative play that can lead to potentially endless compositional patterns. Evoking Munari’s creative freedom and his ability to stimulate imagination, all the carpets in this collection are made from hand-knotted Tibetan wool.

Thinking without preconceived patterns

Few artists or designers have championed imagination quite like Bruno Munari. At the heart of his approach was always the idea of freeing thought from rigid, pre-set patterns. Inspired by this mindset, and in homage to Munari’s vision, Amini presents a special installation curated by David Dolcini. It brings together a selection of Munari’s works alongside two new rug collections, both inspired by his iconic creations: the book Viaggio nella Fantasia, Flight of Fancy and his Macchine Inutili, Useless Machines.
