Invited to take part in the Woven Forms project, Lluís Lleó reproduces in carpet form powerful bursts of color balanced by graphite-like even surfaces. The inspiring subject of the work is the Central American Morpho butterfly, found in 47 varieties, which in the artist’s mind represents the perfect synthesis between strength and fragility. In particular the Morpho Helena carpet envisages how the butterfly sees things on the ground as it flies.
