Leoni Rampanti

Amini has developed three carpets with a definite Renaissance inspiration in collaboration with the historic Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua, one of the few producers still present in Venice: Leoni Rampanti, Pavoni and Rinascimento. Hand knotted carpets with damask and brocade decorations depicting animals and floral motifs typical of the period. The use of double thickness wool and natural silk creates a chiaroscuro effects suggesting shifting shades and movement, and emphasizing traditional graphic forms.

Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua, a workshop overlooking the Grand Canal, makes brocades and precious velvets on ancient looms. A unique workshop, equipped with original eighteenth-century jacquard looms, the same ones once belonged to Scuola della Seta, purchased by Luigi Bevilacqua himself back in 1875. The most precious treasure of Tessitura Bevilacqua is its historical archive: an exclusive source of inspiration that, through a passionate collaboration, it allows to translate into carpets the fascination of the Venetian Renaissance tradition.
